What's in a Name?

The "T-Bone Lite" was conceived as an entry-level model of customized harmonica that unites the covers and reed plates of a Hohner Marine Band 1896 with an ABS comb like the one used in the Hohner Special 20. It preserves much of the feel and tone of the original Marine Band, while providing greater comfort and servicability.

This is essentially the same harmonica that was introduced as the Working Man's Harps T-Bone model in 1998. Over the past eight years, the T-Bone has grown into a fully customized instrument, with painstaking reed work, and fully user-selectable tuning, intonation, and setup for your style of play.

Like the T-Bone, the this new model will improve on the playability of Hohner's classic blues harp, the Marine Band 1896. We replace the leaky, swelling pearwood comb with an ABS plastic comb, assemble with precision machine screws throughout, and hand adjust the tuning and response. It will also be priced to provide a great value to the working men and women who built Working Man's Harps.

This new model will be available in all keys from low D through high G, and in many cases will ship directly from inventory. In the case that something is out of stock, or in an unusual key not in stock, it will usually be delivered in less than two weeks.
